Dulux predicted teal as the color of choice for 2014. A stark contrast to Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Radiant Orchid. I have to admit that I find myself firmly rooted in the Dulux camp on this one. Teal is by far a more refreshing color. According to Dulux, it “combines the natural harmony of green with the tranquility of blue to symbolize balance”, and I concur.

Teal, or ‘Sea Urchin 1’, the precise shade specified by Dulux, combines beautifully with shades of blue and green, placing it comfortably within the palette of my current color crush, duck egg blue. Yay! This versatile shade can be used to transform the mood in any room. Already a big fan, I have my eye on a few items for a touch of teal in the kitchen.
And speaking of plans for my kitchen, I’ve created two teal ‘inspirational posters’ which I need to get framed, you know, a little something-something to keep me calm when the smalls are tugging on my last nerve. If only it were that simple.. [insert dramatic sigh]… but hopefully they’ll look good.

If you fancy them, you can grab a copy for yourself here: Brave | Rise Above.
Enjoy!
