I think we all know how much I love discovering a new interior store. And we are truly becoming spoilt for choice here in Dubai. Before the summer Urban Nest had caught my eye on Instagram but the new online retailer wasn’t yet up & running. So, I had to be patient but I kept them on my radar. And I wasn’t the only one, the new concept gained a lot of interest in the run-up to their website’s September launch.
Now fully operational, this Dutch concept store is definitely something you want to take a look at. With a self-described style of ‘industrial meets minimalist’, the store is bringing some fabulous design brands to Dubai at affordable prices. Naturally, I’ve already sourced a few products from Urban Nest for client installations. The jungle life wall chart was a key feature in the living space at this apartment, and I’ve recently used some small accessories in a teen room and a nursery design, both of which you will soon be getting a full tour of on the blog.
A few weeks ago I met with Janaika Elders-Hauch, the concept’s founder, and it we hit it off immediately. No sooner had we finished our introductory coffee and we found ourselves enthusiastically planning a styled shoot to showcase some of her awesome products. Coincidentally, I had just found out that The Jam Jar in Al Serkal Avenue can be booked for shoots and events and it seemed like an ideal place for this fun little project. Within a few days, we were there.
Here’s a look at a few of my Urban Nest favourites – the few which hadn’t already sold out at that point. What’s more, Janiaka has kindly offered a giveaway for House of Hawkes fans. Just in time for Christmas, eh. Check out our latest Instagram post for details on how to enter.
