Skinny LaMinx is one of my favourite South African design labels and has been for a long time. I featured this awesome brand in a blog post years ago and they just seem to keep screen-printing their way into my heart. I have watched this homegrown brand grown in size, but their values haven’t changed bit. They continue to design and manufacture all of their products in Cape Town – and their wide variety of products now include pillows, soft buckets, chairs, lampshades, kitchenware, bags, scarves and paper gifts.
The 2017/18 collection features a playful colour palette that will bring warmth and character into the heart of your home. My particular favourite pairing is the sage and grey tones that I think work so beautifully together.
The screen-printed textiles are super practical as they’re suitable for upholstery as well as home accessories, and can be used indoors or outdoors – ideal for Dubai at this time of year as we start to migrate outdoors. If you’re the creative-DIY-sewing type, you can also purchase fabrics by the metre and get creative.
I thought I’d round-up of my top 10 Skinny LaMinx favourites… and we could call it part of my ever expanding Christmas wish list!

I have to give a special mention the Bjorn Chair because quite frankly, I’m obsessed. Skinny LaMinx has teamed up with Fechters of Knysna – one of South Africa’s oldest and most trusted furniture makers to produce this gorgeous mid-century inspired armchair. It is made from solid wood, high-density foam and custom-upholstered in Skinny LaMinx fabric. Love, love, love!
As Christmas is around the corner and the spirit of giving is already upon us, I’m running a giveaway over on Instagram with a Skinny LaMinx shopping voucher worth USD 100 up for grabs. To get a taste of what they have on offer, hop over to their website and take a look around. If you fancy regular doses of style inso, sign up for their newsletter while you’re at it.
