Hello my lovelies, it’s me. Remember me?

You may have noticed that the blog has been very quiet for the past few weeks, and that things look a little different around here. It’s because, for a change, House of Hawkes has been the one getting a makeover – and whilst there is a still a lot of tweaking to do, I didn’t want to hold off on publishing the ‘new look’ any longer. As a small business owner, it can be very challenging to juggle things, particularly when you have some large scale projects on the go. Somehow the in-house admin, making pretty websites and delivering valuable content part of the show just takes a backseat. So, despite the fact that this project is not yet 100% complete, I am really excited to show you what we have been working on.

Shortly before the summer break, I got in touch with the lovely Nida Aslam from Nuance Creative to discuss my idea of giving the House of Hawkes branding a ‘refresh’. I had seen Nida’s work online and thought that her style was an excellent fit. I had done the original branding myself, and for a few crazy moments, I was actually considered trying my hand at it again, but given the reality of my time constraints and the fact that I have no formal graphic design training, my sensibility took over and I figured it was time to hand things over to a professional. And I am so glad I did.

Nida was so lovely to work with. She listened closely to my ideas and added her own valuable input. When she presented her first three concepts, I immediately fell in love with one of them and we took it from there. Several emails, tweaks and revisions later, we arrived at the new design – a beautiful branding package that I’ve nicknamed House of Hawkes 2.0.
