Hands up anyone who’s been reading this blog for more than 18 months.

Anyone out there who’s been around longer than 20 months… maybe even 22 months? Ok, Mom, you can put your hand down now. And can I just say, thanks for being my no.1 fan!

It recently dawned on me that the first week of October will mark the second anniversary of my blogging journey. I can scarcely believe that two years have passed by so quickly. So much has happened in that time, and as the old saying goes, time sure flies when you’re having fun. It’s certainly been a fun journey thus far.

I never would have thought that starting a blog would have opened so many doors, nor that it would have brought about wonderful new friendships, exciting challenges and amazing opportunities for growth, both personally and professionally. I certainly never thought I would have an actual (let’s say self-inflicted) ‘job’ as a result of it. It’s no exaggeration to say that I have loved every minute of this crazy little adventure.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoy the interaction I have with readers of my blog – receiving your feedback, online comments and emails are a delightful reminder that there are human beings, outside of my family, who actually read this blog and appreciate its contents. Knowing that you may have received some inspiration or joy from things that I’ve shared is what makes this all worth while – so thank you for being here, for bearing with me whilst I continue to learn the ropes, and for sticking around, even when I have been scarce.

My dear friend, who also happens to be the ‘cake lady extraordinaire’ at Sweet Secrets, baked this gorgeous cake for me, despite that fact that she currently has no kitchen… I smell a before and after feature coming your way soon… but, I mean seriously, how sweet is that? No prizes for guessing how I’ll be spending the afternoon.
