Last month we had the privilege of designing a nursery for the sweetest mum-to-be. Her vision was simple – nothing too over the top, a dash of dusty pink and something special for the walls. Other than that, she pretty much left it up to us. We had seen a few sneak peeks of the wallpaper collaboration project between Jimmy Cricket and well-renowned Swedish art duo, Mrs Mighetto on Instagram and were eager to have one particularly special paper in the design, but we didn’t think the product would be released in time. As it turned out, the beautiful ‘Land of Roses’ design was indeed available in time and we set to work with a design to compliment this dreamy wallpaper. The end result is calm and tranquil space that the new parents are enjoying with their precious baby girl.
Finding a paint colour to work with this beautiful wallpaper was a surprisingly easy task. Transparent Pink by Jotun not only worked a charm with the tone of the wallpaper, but it with the warm wood floors and furniture pieces too. And speaking of those wooden furniture pieces, we are big fans of the Nobodinoz cot and changing table, both cleverly designed to last well beyond the infant years as the cot converts to a toddler bed and the three-drawer changing table becomes a stylish dresser. The ridiculously comfortable Pottery Barn glider is a dream for midnight feeds and the seagrass pouffe adds texture and natural tones to the colour scheme while offering for support as well. We found a super soft wool rug at Pottery Barn Kids that creates a perfect surface area for when the little one is on the move in a few months.
By far, one of the cutest things in the room is the Joseph Bunny, an adorable night lamp that perches perfectly on a table or shelf. We found this little cutie at Lidor, along with some other accessories that we used to style the shelves above the changing table. We tried something a little unconventional with the artwork in this nursery, selecting an abstract piece from our new favourite Esty printshop, Heartsincolors – definitely worth a look in this store! No newly decorated space is complete without greenery and this banana leaf plant was love at first sight, not to mention a star attraction in this light-drenched room.
Since completing this special space, it’s precious new resident has arrived safely and we’ve been coo-ing over pictures of the precious little bub. We hope that she and her parents are enjoying the nursery.
