I recently discovered the work of Elicia Edijanto, the talented Indonesian artist behind these exquisite black and white watercolours that depict children interacting with wild animals. I love the melancholic mood of the images and the sheer innocence of the children who seem oblivious to the potential danger of the enormous animals they’ve befriended. Quite enchanting, really.
I found Elicia’s work at drawdeck.com, where you can purchase these prints. Her Instagram feed is also well worth a look.

Beautiful art.
I know Fi, I want it all!
Wow so wonderful and to think of monochromatic watercolor painting is too difficult to do. This paintings inspired me today to try this technique. Thanks for sharing =)
Hi Nel, so glad you felt inspired by the post. Her artwork is really stunning. Good luck with yours. Kath
I love these, thank you for sharing. They remind me a bit of my favorite artist, Amberlee Rosolowich. Amberlee also uses children and animals, but uses paints in a bit more whimsical fashion. Check out her work, I think you’ll like it. I have one piece and always long for more.
Hi Lauren, I had a look and her work is also amazing! Thanks for the insight and for stopping by. Kath
