I can hardly believe its that time of year again. Our neighbourhood is abuzz with Halloween excitement and spooky decor – its such a fun time for the kids…… and ahem, some adults too. That said, we live in a community that is really culturally diverse and alas, Halloween and all it’s tricks is not for everyone. I’ve always thought that a little note or sign at the door is really helpful for parents and kids to know, without hazarding a potentially awkward guess, whether trick or treaters are welcome.
We’re a household who are happy to indulge these little candy monsters but this year, we’ll be at a Halloween party in a different residential community which means we won’t be around to welcome our own neighbourhood kids. Despite the fact that we won’t be home, I am planning to leave a basket of treats at the door. Goodness knows how long they will last, but I guess its the thought that counts. This got me thinking about a sign needed for our door this year – something to let them know we’re not in.
I designed these two options which are available free of charge for personal use. Enjoy!
