Home tour: Negin-Fattahi-Dasmal’s idyllic Dubai oasis

Hey everyone, I hope the week is being good to you. If not, and if you’re an avid interiors stalker, like myself, then I have a little something that is bound to improve your day, if not your whole week!

I am beyond excited to give you a little tour of an exquisite Dubai home, which was recently featured over at Savoir Flair. What makes this home an extra special feature for me is that it belongs to a dear friend of mine who also happens to be one of the nicest and most inspirational people I have ever had the privilege of knowing. And she’s my ex-boss!

Negin Fattahi-Dasmal is not only the founder of three pioneering and award-winning grooming concepts – N.Bar, 1847 and JetSet, she is also a wife, mother of four and cancer survivor. Personally, I think she is more accurately described as a cancer-butt-kicking-warrior and somewhat of a living miracle. Working closely with Negin at the time of her diagnosis, over six years ago, I know first hand the determination and strength that this formidable woman has in seemingly endless supply. Mark my words, she is one of a kind.

An incurable perfectionist, Negin’s impeccable style and taste is evident in all aspects of her life. She’s probably the best groomed person you’re ever likely to meet and her passion for perfection is beautifully reflected in her interior design style – both at home and in all of her store concepts.

It’s pretty hard to believe that Negin has had no help in decorating her modern Dubai home, or that four energetic children live here. Right?

You’ve probably gathered by now that one of Negin’s great passions is art. She has an enviable collection of artwork, primarily by distinguished Middle Eastern artists. The above piece, ‘Untitled’, is by the Turkish artist, Mehmet Ali Uysal. “His works really are living creations”, says Negin.

My personal favorite is the piece that Negin commissioned by Iranian artist, Farhad Moshiri (pictured in the first image). I recall being completely mesmerized by it the first time I laid eyes on in it Negin’s home.

This is a home filled with unique treasures collected from all over the globe – this stunning antler chair that Negin found at a vintage store in Palm Springs is a perfect example. I think its safe to say that you would be forgiven for mistaking parts of this superbly curated home for an art gallery.

Negin and her husband are warm and gracious hosts who enjoy entertaining. The spacious and gorgeous dining room, which overlooks the formal lounge area, plays host to lengthly brunches and dinners filled with family, friends and traditional Persian fare.

Candles and fresh flowers, probably two of Negin’s favorite home accessories, are always in abundance.

The family room really is the heart of this home and you’ll usually find Negin perched in the far corner of the sofa which comfortably accommodates their large tribe.

Healthy snacks are always within reach and, despite the tranquility of the image, this is a room that bustles with energy and the sounds of busy, happy children – most often not limited to just her four.

The garden and well used pool area are the epitome of a desert oasis.

Isn’t she lovely?

I have seen this beautiful home flourish over the years with the addition of so many carefully selected items. It’s been a true labour of love for Negin. I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into her space as much as I have enjoyed sharing it with you.

    Hello Negin,

I saw your interview in Marketplace Middle East: “The business of beauty” on CNN last week and I’m really impressed by your concepts, your realizations, your determination!
You are, as I read in “Savoir Flair”, “a formidable woman”, you are “one of a kind!”

What a coincidence, unfortunately, last week I was diagnosed with the evolution of my breastcancer treated by a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy 2 years ago..

It is now metastasized to the skeletal system and liver..

Here in Belgium, where I live, I’m afraid we’re far behind for what treatment is concerned
I suppose the following step will be chemotherapy.. I’ll lose my hair etc..
Not sure another hormone therapy can help..

You went through the whole process, with success, and you finally won!

As you are known as a “cancer survivor”, a “cancer-butt-kicking-warrior”, I would like to ask you if you have some wise advice to share with me.

Your beauty, after this “battle” is for me a reason to fight, to be determined to win, like you did.. you’re a radiant, stunning personality!!

Thanking you in advance for your attention, I hope you can give me some hopeful news..

    Kind regards
