I’m a blatant sucker for all things natural. We’re talking natural fibres, wood, colours, textures, textiles… you name it. If it has any aspect of natural going on, I’m probably sold.
This passion of mine has always been (and I suspect will always be) a key focus in my decorating style. I like to keep things light and airy with white in abundance. Less colour, more texture…. is probably a good way to sum it up. Not ideal with the smalls and their filthy paws, but I have a bit of a you-only-live-once-so-just-have-and-enjoy-the-white-couches attitude about that. And besides, that’s what washable, removable covers were invented for.
Don’t get me wrong, I admire the use of bold colours and ‘mixing things up’ in much the same manner that that I admire gals who can rock a killer pair of heels all day. I wish I could do it but it’s just not really my strong point. Truth be told, I try hard to break out of my safe little natural-coloured world at times, but the reality is it makes me feel happy and content. So I see no real reason to disrupt this little piece of bliss. Right? Right.
With that in mind, today’s inspiration is a self-indulgent foray into a world of beautiful natural décor. Let’s call it a natural high, shall we?
