Well, hello my lovelies! It’s been a while.
I am having a fabulous holiday in South Africa so far. If you’ve been following my Instagram feed, you’ll know that we arrived to some pretty chilly weather conditions in the KwaZulu Natal midlands, but I’ve since migrated to the coast and am enjoying Durban’s fabulous, warmer winter conditions. My mom took the smalls off my hands for a few days (thanks Mom!) so I have been somewhat of a free agent… It’s been both strange and wonderful to feel like my pre-motherhood self again. I’ve been able to wander around a mall and simply enjoy browsing without ever having to stop and threaten anyone with impending punishment. Bliss, I tell you. My retail euphoria was however interrupted every now and then when I had that sudden panicked sense of having left someone behind somewhere.
One of the many stops in my tour around town in the tiniest hire car ever was at one of South Africa’s homegrown home stores, Weylandts. Despite knowing of the brand, having frequented their website and seen their large showroom from the highway several times, I had never actually been into one of their stores until today. Suffice to say I was blown away by the quality and variety of the products, the exquisite interior spaces and brilliant merchandising.
These images captured on my iPhone aren’t the best quality but what’s a girl to do when spotting objects of beauty on the fly.

I need me some of those barstools! Actually I need a lot of things in this shop. I wish we had an outlet in Dubai.
To learn more about the Weylandts story and see their beautiful range, visit their website. I was also delighted to discover Chris Weylandts’ blog, The House that Chris Built.
I’m getting the smalls back in my possession later and can’t wait to see them. That marks the end of my decor shopping delights. Happy weekend!
